This K-6 public school is located at the edge of a cliff overlooking the townscape of Ayios Athanasios, Limassol and in the distance the southern Mediterranean coast of Cyprus.
The bi-level plan describes a partially covered central courtyard entered under a corrugated steel canopy supported by cellular beams, which also defines the multi-purpose room, while shading the administrative wing. The radial classroom wing is incised into the steep landscape while respecting the existing contours.
All the classrooms open out onto individual terraces with commanding views. Bridges and curved ramps, integral to the architectonic idea, connect all programmatic components of the school, along with its athletic and recreational areas.
